The Osun State Police Command has dismissed two police sergeants, Ikuesan Taiwo and Ibrahim Abass, who reportedly beat Mrs Bamidele Tola at Odori market in Iwo, Osun State.


The Osun State Police Command has dismissed two police sergeants, Ikuesan Taiwo and Ibrahim Abass, who reportedly beat Mrs Bamidele Tola at Odori market in Iwo, Osun State.

An assault was reported which caught the attention of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.



The Police Force officers were in the viral video beating the woman during a Covid-19 lockdown in Iwo, Osun state.

The policemen were found guilty of all the charges, and since then been dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force.

The Nigerian Police has described its decision to dismiss the policemen as part of the Force’s measures put in place to curb professional misconduct, and engender accountability in the system.

The State Commissioner of Police vows that, no human rights violations and abuse of powers will be tolerated.
